The Ukraine Crisis Analysis Team’s (UACAT) mandate is to guide development and humanitarian programs and operations through in-depth contextual, anticipatory and thematic analysis. Our work supports the development of local, nuanced, and evidence-based programming.
The reports we produce are impartial and are shared on a strictly non-attributable basis to inform humanitarian and development actors, as well as policymakers, about the rapidly changing context in Ukraine. The information presented therein does not represent the institutional opinions of either Mercy Corps or its donors.
-
We monitor and analyze the broader socio-economic impact of the war in Ukraine. In regular thematic reports, UACAT presents its findings, identifies roadblocks to reestablishing livelihoods, and spotlights approaches for building resilience among those affected by the full-scale invasion.
-
Our up-to-date humanitarian analyses examine the fundamental needs, vulnerabilities and threats faced by diverse communities as a direct result of the war. These updates may focus on security trends, scenario forecasting or population displacement alerts for regions heavily affected by conflict dynamics. UACAT’s humanitarian analyses facilitate the development of tailored programming to support short- and medium-term relief efforts by the humanitarian community.
-
UACAT also investigates the consequences of the war beyond Ukraine’s borders. Our regional analysis component plays a pivotal role in assessing the impact of the full-scale invasion on neighboring countries such as Poland and Moldova. We also provide insights into economic, political and social dynamics affected by the increased humanitarian presence in Ukraine.
